Recent Work Experience
Experience is a great advantage. The problem is that when you get the experience, you’re too damned old to do anything about it.
Thomas Cook
I joined Thomas Cook Travel Company in 2010. It has been an exciting opportunity for me to work and design in such a large industry. Initially, I was the sole designer for three brands, but now this has evolved to five. I am in charge of all design work and new artwork concepts. I feel I have achieved the best for each brand and developed them further. I enjoy all the challenges that are presented to me.
Club 18-30
Club 18-30 has been going for years, and is one of the most known youth travel brands maybe not for the best reason, however that was a long time ago. Club 18-30 is what the summer is all about.
Best mates. All in one place. No ties. No work for one or two weeks. Warm waters. Hot sun. Cool tunes. Great clubs. The ultimate holiday experience for the people who need it most.
My role is to design everything that is needed for overseas so the reps can provide a full club 18-30 holiday experience,
for example- banners, hotel notice boards and event guides.
In the UK, my role is to help the retail network produce flyers, window cards and pop up banners to entice the customer into the shop.
Online html eflyer and eshot will be sent out to customers directly.
Club 18-30 is such a wide ranging job and has pushed and enhanced my skills to take the brand further away from it’s competitors. Studio Output designed the Club 18-30 Brand and provided me with guidance on how to use the branding.

The Big Reunion
For over a decade The Big Reunion has held the official title of the UK’s Biggest Indoor Winter Music Festival!
Taking place across five stages over two consecutive weekends in November, the Big Reunion offers a heavy blend of dance and DJ talent with a clash of live music all served up indoors away from the unforgiving winter winds of England’s east coast resort
Butlins- Skegness.
For The Big Reunion I produce the concept design each year. The 2011 concept was 80’s retro and the concept I am currently designing for 2012 is an illustrative design with limited colour. Once the concept has been developed and discussed with the Brand Manager,
I will start designing a wide selection of artwork for the website, posters, booklets and adverts, leading up to the event, and also design the banners and lanyards for the event.

The Big Snow Festival
The Snow festival was established 3 years ago. For 2 years it has been held in Andorra and in March 2012 it is going to be in Sauze D’Oulx, Italy.
With this festival being held in a different country it has given me the opportunity to demonstrate that I am able to keep to tight deadlines, all banners and artwork need to be sent over at least 3 weeks before the event.
The design work required for this festival needs to be current and engaging for the snow market. Adverts, posters, eflyers, are essential in promoting this event.

NoMud.com
Working in a small team, we created this sub brand 6 months after I started at Thomas Cook. NoMud.com is, the one stop shop for festival travel. We built NoMud.com for UK guests to allow them to experience some of the best European festivals with a professional travel company.
Working along side Studio Output we came up with the branding for this new concept. I designed the website and gave the files to VSI thinking- professional website developers, where they took my PSD designs and made the website fully functional.
We are currently in discussion with different European Festivals for 2012, such as Exit Festival and Rock Werchter where I will be expected to produce all the images for the website, and design any advertisements that we are doing for NoMud.com

Specialist Business Division
The Thomas Cook Specialist Business Division is home to the biggest reputable brands in the Youth, Music, Event, Sport and Adventure Travel Market. The Travel Brands are Club 18-30, Thomas Cook Sport, Neilson and Thomas Cook Olympics.
This is a new project and has given me the opportunity to demonstrate my ability to produce professional designs. My design brief has been to create a logo for the Specalist Businesses group with a quick turn around. I produced a simple but effective logo with a strong brand colour that ties all the brands together.
Being given the opportunity to design and develop this logo has made me evaluate all of our other brands. In January 2012,
I recognised that we would be more efficient if we had a design team to look after all the Specialist Business Brands. I created a clear business proposal for the Head of Specialist Businesses outlining the above. |
